Terms of service

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 17 June 2026

  1. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use Circe's Services. Services are intended for individuals seeking non-emergency mental health support. By using Circe, you confirm that the information you provide is true, accurate, and complete. By completing sign-up and checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

  2. Scope of Services. Circe provides therapist-led online group therapy sessions facilitated by licensed therapists. Circe does not provide:

  • Medical diagnoses

  • Psychiatric evaluations

  • Prescription of medication

  • Crisis intervention or emergency care Participation in Circe's programmes is intended to supplement, not replace, ongoing medical or psychiatric care.

  1. Health Disclaimer. Circe is not suitable for emergencies. If you are experiencing a crisis, feeling suicidal, or at risk of harm in the UK, you should call NHS 111 (online or by phone) for urgent mental health support, contact Samaritans on 116 123 for free 24/7 confidential support, or text Shout (85258) for free anonymous support. If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harm, call 999 or go to A&E. Always seek advice from your GP, psychiatrist, or other healthcare provider for medical concerns. By enrolling, you acknowledge that therapy outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

  2. Therapist Relationship. All Circe groups are facilitated by licensed therapists. Each group is led by a professional with expertise in the group's specific focus area (e.g. burnout, ADHD, depression, anxiety). Circe runs and provides these group therapy programmes. The therapists who facilitate our groups may be independent providers rather than employees of Circe, but the Services themselves are provided by Circe.

  1. Fees & Payments. Programme fees vary by group. Pricing currently begins at £25 per session. Unless otherwise stated, programmes are billed on a monthly recurring basis for the duration of your group. In some cases (such as short fixed-term programmes), payment may be split into instalments — 50% upfront and 50% halfway through. Payments must be made via the methods listed on our platform (e.g. card or bank transfer). Continued access to sessions is conditional on timely payment of fees.

  2. Free Trial & Subscription. From time to time we offer your first four weeks free. To claim this, subscribe to our newsletter and use the discount code we send you when you sign up. This is a temporary offer and is limited to availability; we may change or withdraw it at any time. Your free trial begins on the date you sign up. To confirm your place in a group, you must complete your onboarding within 14 days of signing up. Onboarding has two steps: (1) completing the onboarding form sent to you by email, and (2) attending your onboarding call, which is mandatory before you can join a therapy group. If you have not completed both steps within 14 days, and we have not heard from you, we will cancel your subscription and release your place, so that the spot can be offered to someone else. Group places are limited. At the end of your four-week free trial, your paid subscription will begin automatically, billed as set out in Section 5. You can cancel at any time, either directly from your online account or by emailing us at team@hello-circe.com, and we will cancel it for you.

  3. Cancellations & Refunds If after your first session you feel the group is not a fit, you may request a full refund. Beyond the first session, no refunds will be issued, except at Circe's discretion in exceptional circumstances. If a therapist cancels a session, it will either be rescheduled or refunded.

  4. Confidentiality, Privacy & Data Protection. Group therapy requires mutual trust. All participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding what is shared in sessions. Sharing another participant's personal information outside the group is strictly prohibited. While all participants agree to keep what is shared confidential, Circe cannot control or guarantee the conduct of other group members, and is not responsible for any breach of confidentiality by another participant. The information you share with Circe includes health and other sensitive personal information. Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), this is treated as "special category data" and given extra protection. We process this data on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when you sign up and take part in our Services. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although this may affect our ability to provide the Services to you. Recording and transcription: Circe may transcribe or record sessions only with your explicit written consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time. Any data used for research or product development will first be anonymised. How your data is handled: We use trusted third-party providers (for example, to process payments, host video sessions, and send emails) to deliver our Services. These providers act only on our instructions and under data protection agreements. Your health and clinical data is stored within the UK or European Union and is never passed through third-party artificial-intelligence services. We use automated tools, always with human oversight, to help match you to a suitable group. Security and retention: We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including access controls and encryption, to protect your data. We keep your personal and health data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Your rights: You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, to request a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@hello-circe.com. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, store, and protect your data.

  5. Limits of Confidentiality & Safeguarding. While we take confidentiality seriously, there are limited situations in which Circe or its therapists may need to disclose information without your consent. These include where we reasonably believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or to another person, where there is a safeguarding concern involving a child or an adult at risk, or where we are required to disclose information by law. Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, we will aim to let you know before making such a disclosure.

  6. Code of Conduct Participants must engage respectfully and responsibly. Disruptive, offensive, discriminatory, or harmful behaviour will result in removal from the group. If you are removed for this reason, you will be refunded for any sessions you have paid for but not yet attended. You agree not to use Circe's Services to:

  • Harass or abuse others

  • Share harmful or illegal content

  • Misrepresent your identity or needs

  1. Technology & Access Circe sessions are delivered online. You are responsible for ensuring:

  • A stable internet connection

  • A private environment suitable for participation Circe is not liable for interruptions caused by technical issues outside our control.

  1. Intellectual Property. All materials provided by Circe (including educational resources, group materials, and website content) are the property of Circe and protected by copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent from Circe.

  2. Limitation of Liability. Circe provides services with professional care but cannot guarantee outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Circe is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to emotional distress, data loss, or service interruption.

  3. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Circe, its therapists, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

  4. Termination Circe reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to make payment, or engage in unsafe or disruptive behaviour. You may stop using Circe at any time, but no refunds will be given except as outlined in Sections 7 and 10.

  5. Governing Law & Disputes These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

  6. Changes to Terms Circe may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with the "last updated" date revised accordingly. Continued use of Circe Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
